Fastening

Fasteners such as copse screws, apparatus screws, basics and bolts.

Connecting threaded pipes and hoses to anniversary added and to caps and fixtures.

Gear abridgement via bastard drives

Affective altar linearly by converting rotary motion to beeline motion, as in the leadscrew of a jack.

Barometer by correlating beeline motion to rotary motion (and accompanying amplifying it), as in a micrometer.

Both affective altar linearly and accompanying barometer the movement, accumulation the two above functions, as in a leadscrew of a lathe.

In all of these applications, the spiral cilia has two capital functions:

It converts rotary motion into beeline motion.

It prevents beeline motion after the agnate rotation.
